Upon logging into my Gainsight instance this morning, we noticed the rounded corners in the Summary tab of our C360 - which looks awesome by the way.

My only gripe is that there seems to be a pop up that appears when hovering over any uneditable field on the Summary tab that mentions the user doesn’t have the required permissions to edit the widget data, and that they should reach out to their Gainsight admin for assistance.

I find this pop up to be misleading to our end users. This message appears after hovering over uneditable fields on the Summary tab, but at least for us, these fields being uneditable was intentional. In this case it’s not a permissions issue - they can’t edit these fields simply because we’ve marked them as uneditable.

Is there any way this pop up can be updated to more clearly state the situation and in a more simple manner? Maybe something like “Your admin has made this field uneditable.” I can see us getting many pings from our field team on this, thinking they are facing a permissions error when that isn’t actually the case.

Thanks!

Yes, please.
My org has some rather excitable CSMs and team members. This has already caused one of them to reach out thinking that we’ve stripped their permissions back.

(Love the new look, though!)

🤣 I managed to get a message out before the team came online, getting ahead of it for once!

I have a couple of widgets that are concatenations, which create a URL.  Because it’s calculated it is apparently not editable (even though it says so in Company)….but is now also not click-able.  The pop up is annoying but not being able to click on URL is lost functionality.

This tooltip reappeared in the UI recently - please can we have this removed, or at the very least reworded? It’s creating confusion.  In the C360/R360 there are fields that are specifically non-editable, for example at what point should an end user be able to edit the number of open CTAs for a company, given that this is a field calculated in the backend..?

Surprisingly have had no turmoil with this so far but agree that this needs to disappear.

Can a Gainster maybe explain what problem this was trying to solve? I know I’ve asked for a better way for end users to differentiate a field that is editable and a field that is not, but this….this is not it.

This reads like there is a problem with their configuration. This just says “well you could edit it if your admin let you”, and blocks a ton of space on their screen if they mouseover anything in that column.

If anything, if Gainsight really wants this message, can we just have it appended to whatever help text admins can provide when you mouseover the field name, not each value?

I haven’t heard from my team on this, but I suspect they are also confused. I only want to see the help text that I input. I don’t want them coming to me requesting edit access for individual fields.
