Category Subscription Should Send Notification for Replies

If I understand it correctly, subscribing to a category only sends an email notification for a new topic, but to receive notifications for a reply on that category you need to subscribe to that specific conversation.

 

Our members would like to receive notifications for replies for category subscriptions and have more granular control of that in their settings.

 

Especially our superusers who heavily rely on subscriptions.

Seems pretty basic to have that.

We need this functionality too. Without it, using Gainsight for e.g. release notes or product updates isn’t very useful, since both commonly have changes that we post as replies. Creating a new topic each time would just force us to have a bunch of stale topics

Just adding my support for this as well. We’d like to have this option (for those who would like to receive notifications about all post/reply activity across the community ie superusers).

As a Community Manager, there are times when I want to update users with new information by replying to an existing post. I would like to have the option to choose whether not only Super Users but also Registered Users receive these notifications. Additionally, it would be great if the user replying could choose whether or not they want to send out the notification.
