Configure visibility for parent categories

While I don’t make parent category changes often, I can see how this might be valuable from time-to-time when making larger changes to a community.

Hi @Beachball3000, thanks for your idea! Can you give us some more details such as how often you need to hide the parent category, what is the maximum number of child categories that a parent category contains?

I'd still put this idea to 'open' to collect more votes and feedback.

We’re currently in the process of revamping our category structure and hence can only speak for this time.
Our parents have at least 6-7 child categories on average (reached a max of 19 sub-categories.)

Even when we decide to create new parent categories in the backend, making it ready to go live at a particular time, we’ve to uncheck each attribute role when creating these child categories, and ultimately toggle them back on when ready to roll out (because that’s the only way I can keep it hidden from the front end.)
