Priority: medium-high
Overview: Now that our support team is managing an increasing workload of of tickets, the speed of page loads is significantly reducing their efficiency. Note that drilling into topics takes about 8 seconds as well; this is another action that the team takes repeatedly.

Steps to Repro:

  • Reply to a topic on the backend
Current Behavior:

  • the page loads for 8 seconds, then the topic is published
Desired Behavior:

  • The page loads for less than 1 second, then the topic is published

Reproducibility: Always

Additional info: This is reproducible by each member of our team.

@Cristina can you let us know the changes made and the impact here?

Coincidently, in the last week I’ve been comparing our Forum’s Lighthouse performance to that of Inspired and our company’s site

All those sites reviewed score badly in performance, especially for mobile. Does Lighthouse just have very high standards for what is considered average or good?

Hey @timcavey! It seems I picked the wrong status by mistake, I intended to set this one to “Under construction” but clicked on “Delivered”. Will correct this right away 🙏

What we are currently doing to increase the performance of the topic moderation pages in Control is upgrading the technology used by the UI components and we are simplifying, or even redesigning the way different content features are working, for example using API endpoints instead of calling some business logic in our platform’s library of commands which takes more time with unnecessary complexity. A tad technical answer, but we do expect to have an overall impact on the load time, feature performance and reliability.
