We have 2 Types of Relationships in Gainsight, 1 has 98k records and the other has 700.  Due to similar naming conventions, when using a lookup on Relationships, users are often unable to find the Type with 700 records because all the values from the Relationship Type that has 98k records apply.  I cannot share screenshots in this forum due to compliance, but this is a made up example.

  • Create Relationships with the following values:
    • ABCDEF
    • ABCDEF - 1
    • ABCDEF - 2
    • Continue with 24 additional relationships counting up to - 26
  • Create a new Data Management object with a field with a lookup on Relationship GSID
  • Create a report that allows you to add a new row to the table
  • Use the lookup, even if you type ABCDEF, you will get the other - 26 results and not the one with the exact name matching

In our instance, ABCDEF has a different Type.  If we could filter the lookup by Type, we would never see the other options and this would work as intended.  We actually don’t want users to be able to select any of the other type of Relationships.
