For scenarios where Gainsight is writing to Salesforce (the Connectors and the Rules Engine come immediately to mind), support documentation of the Gainsight User who made the change in Gainsight to be the “Modified User” in Salesforce.

Currently, all writes to SFDC are documented as “Modified By” the authenticating user, which is often a generic or service SFDC User. The Enhancement Request is to support sending the identifying information for the Gainsight User who made the change to SFDC.

This will help with auditing, as a write to SFDC could be tracked specifically to a Gainsight User, instead of being assigned to a more generic SFDC User. (Today, it’s somewhat clear the SFDC modification came from Gainsight, but lacks information on which user made the change in Gainsight.) This would also help Gainsight teams improve relationships with Salesforce Administrators by more clearly noting the true modifying User.

It just makes sense. If we're able to do this with JO and timeline and CTAs, why is this not uniform already?

@matthew_lind Interested in the frequency at which you sync back to SFDC?
