Have a number of characters indicator when writing in the text editor

The use case in writing articles is pretty clear. Is it the only place you’d like to see a character counter? 

I’d move this idea to open and see if others also like this concept. :)

I second this! I could really use a character counter, particularly one that shows the true character count and limit. I say this because I discovered that the character limit of 50,000 applies to the character count in the HTML coding, not the plain text character count.

I need this!   If it is going to error out and I lose data, I should have the tool to avoid losing data in the form of a character count.
