I have the Gong integration up and running with our Gainsight Instance. 

 

I’d really like to see historical Gong calls be available for syncing to Timeline.

 

I have found that there are a number of CSMs who have not allocated a Salesforce Account to a Gong call once the call is completed (within Gong itself).

 

If the CSM later links the Salesforce account to the  Gong at a later date (for example at end the of the month) the Gong call will unfortunately not sync to Gainsight.

 

I understand that the Gong integration runs every 4 hours, and will pickup any activity within the last 8 hours (Provided of course that a Salesforce account is linked to the Gong call)

 

It would be great if historical syncing could be made possible so that old calls (that have since been associated with accounts) can be synced across to Gainsight.

 

 

@liam_nicholls thanks for sharing your use case. In the current version, historical syncing is not supported. We will internally discuss this functionality for future version.

We have a few calls that do not sync for similar reasons where the integration could not find the reference. This is a single point of failure and we have no way of re-syncing and bringing this historical data after updating it in the source (Gong).
 

If the sync is one time only and one direction - it is a single point of failure because it is holding inconsistent information when updates are made to the source data.

There needs to be more visibility and flexibility to find errors and re-sync failed and updated records. We might end up disabling the integration as it causing more pain than gain!


This is a ridiculous setback to being able to get value out of this.


Please consider adjusting this, we should have a force sync option for calls that are not synced due to some issue, and then lost forever. It’s pretty difficult to explain that there is no option to get the call to sync to Gainsight if it doesn’t sync within 4 hours. We need to be able to expand this.


+1 in wanting the ability to backfill calls due to errors or just to bring in historical data.


Is there an update on this request? We recently implemented and would like to be able to bring historical calls into Gainsight as well.
