Is null option for dropdowns in Rules Engine and JO participants query

At the moment, Rules Engine and JO particpants queries only offer the options 'includes' and 'excludes' for dropdown fields. There seems to be no option to select only people (for example) where a certain dropdown field is empty (null).

Use case: need to send an email to users, excluding certain user types, but including users for which no type is set.

    This should apply to a multi-picklist as well (Report builder does offer the option).

      100% on this! It requires adding transforms and merge back into the original data set and it really doesn’t make sense to spend all this time creating additional transforms and merges for this.

      Relating to this, the impossibility to map multi-select picklists in the participant source is a pain too (it shows GSIDs instead of values which makes it useless). 

      The most expensive part of building is the mistakes. That's true in construction. Not so much in CSOps. So ask questions, make mistakes and learn. All views expressed here are my own.
