New Idea

Let admins choose which meeting platforms push to Timeline from Staircase AI, and prevent duplicate entries

Related products:Staircase AI

Submitted by Gainsight Support on behalf of a customer.

We use the full Staircase AI product and have both Gong and Microsoft Teams connected. When the same meeting is captured by both, Staircase AI pushes two Timeline entries for the same meeting and author. One has the source GONGIO and one has MS_TEAMS.

The "Push call summaries to Gainsight as a timeline entry" setting applies to every connected meeting platform. We cannot keep Gong feeding Staircase AI while only Teams logs to Timeline. The only way to keep Gong out of Timeline is to disconnect Gong, and that also stops Staircase AI from using our Gong calls.

Impact
- Logged hours are inflated for company and TAM reporting.
- Every Timeline entry syncs to Salesforce as a Task, so the duplicates also flow into our Salesforce Task records and the reports built on them.
- Activity Sync into Salesforce Tasks has no filters, so we cannot remove the duplicates before they sync.

What we would like
1. Let admins choose which connected platforms push to Timeline, so one platform can feed Staircase AI without logging to Timeline.
2. Or skip a Timeline entry when the same meeting already has an entry from another platform.
3. Or add filters to Activity Sync into Salesforce Tasks, such as by source.

Current workaround
We filter out the GONGIO source in our hours reports and remove the duplicate entries by hand. This does not fix the Salesforce Task records.
