There are several options for sharing reports/dashboards in Gainsight, but none of them are stellar:

Download dashboard as PDF This is a literal PDF of your screen basically

Share dashboard as PPT Creates slides with literal screenshots of each report & widget

Share dashboard as Link This is okay internally, but working out the kinks for external sharing since it removes custom filters you applied

Download report data Exports data into table saved as an Excel sheet

Download report image Saves literal screenshot of report

 

Our company’s recommended approach is do-it-yourself screenshot magic:

  1. Find your report

  2. Make it full screen

  3. Take screenshot

  4. Save screenshot

  5. Share screenshot

 

The native export/share functionality in Gainsight should be good enough to not warrant the do-it-yourself screenshot magic approach. The issue with the literalness of the PDF and images is that it can cut off data, the legend, labels, etc.

We need an option to Send Dashboard as email or send a PDF version of the dashboard via email for whichever email address we want without dependencies.

Having to set-up a Journey Orchestrator to do that is extremely cumbersome and to set up a recurring email, you need to add all email addresses to GS one way or another.

You cannot use a CSV to send recurring JO program so there really isn’t any quick and easy way to send a report via email to an external email address without spending a lot of time setting up something.
