Make it impossible to like own posts

So it is possible to like own posts but does the user still earn points? This link (added above) doesnt work.

Hehehe, you have literally no idea how many notes and records I keep in my Confluence site for things like this. My records indicate I last tried to test this on inSpired back in September 2022 and on the OVO Forum back in August 2022.

On both occasions, I was unable to trick the platform into giving me points for liking my own content. Looking further back, I can’t find any traces of previous testing where I was able to pull this off either.

However, my records do indicate that there is a way that I discovered to give myself tons of points, but it’s so tedious to do that it’s not worth it for anyone except extremely determined users because it’d take weeks to give me anything notable - and for obvious reasons I’m not going to reveal what that method was.

@revote @Blastoise186 I can confirm that it’s possible to not get points when you like your own post. That’s at least what our gamification docs say and I believe a previous colleague vetted this pretty specifically.

I’ve also tested on my own community, liking my own post and monitoring the user analytics for points. I haven’t seen any change to my points over the past few minutes and it’s usually pretty immediate. 

@Alistair FIeld and team. If my reply above is correct, it might be worth updating this idea to delivered and pinning a reply that this was addressed some time ago and/or linking to the answered question.
