Make it possible that user can change their usernames by themselves

I have found this thread very helpful. This relies me that you people are very cooperative. I would love to read more threads in the community. 

We appreciate you sharing this suggestion. At this time, we're parking the idea as we focus on other roadmap commitments and won't be pursuing it this year. That said, we'll keep it under consideration and revisit it if we see increased customer demand or if it becomes a stronger fit for future priorities.

I am not actively seeking after this feature, but considering the amount of votes on it I wouldn't think it should need more demand to be considered, no?

 @deepan Are there any chance this feature gets prioritized in the next year?

We're in the process of enabling SSO and auto-registration for our community (~500k users), and the inability to change usernames is a real concern for us. As part of our registration flow, usernames will be auto-generated, and we want to give users the ability to update theirs if needed, particularly to address any PII concerns that may come up after the fact.

With a community our size, manually fielding username change requests at scale (especially post-SSO launch) isn't feasible. Self-serve username editing would go a long way. Would love to know if this is on the roadmap
