Make it possible to see full field name in Fields section in Data Designer Explore

This issue occurs in many areas where the field search cannot show the full text.

In the explore phase there is a similar problem. And now that Rules Engine (Horizon) uses the same interface, the issue has extended there too.

I’m not quite understanding how this design “works” and continues to roll out into more Gainsight feature sets. If the design negatively affects the administrator efforts, why are there very few changes in this UI standard?

We now see this in Rules Engine, Data Designer and Report Builder. Gainsight team, sure would like to hear from you; I know an audience of Admins who would gladly offer feedback and input here.

Have been asking this for a while myself as well. I think almost every new feature or update has at least one post about “whitespace” or something related to the functionality taking a backseat to some arbitrary and ostensibly more visually appealing UI. Instead of making improvements based on that feedback, there seems to be a doubling down on the frustrating UI/UX in platform.

@dstokowski @ophirsw @anirbandutta would love to get some insight on what is being done to address this cohesively with the platform, and when we could start to see improvements.

We acknowledge the issue of excess whitespace across modules and there has to be a horizonised solution to reflect it across the platform. I’ve elevated it to the PM and design teams.

I appreciate that @anirbandutta, though in all honesty this shouldn’t be a new issue for PMs and designers to think through, we’ve been giving this feedback since Horizon was a thing. I know I myself have brought this up with various leaders at Gainsight. What would be great to see, besides actual improvements because I know as much as we want them now they will take time, is some actual substantive indication improvements are underway.
