I know this has been brought up before with no resolution.

More and more of our community members + internal team members are asking for a mobile app to make it easier to access our community.

This would be a great way to better compete with Facebook groups which has an app that makes it very easy to access. People are on their phones more and more so having a mobile app is very important.

@beth thank you very much for proposing this idea!

We obviously see the mobile usage trend and however the mobile app is not currently on our medium-term roadmap, we are discussing this task on long term, strategic level. We are really interested in user opinion – votes captured here will definitely help.

Meanwhile, there is still a possibility to use the community in the mobile browser experience.

Would like to add that our members have also expressed interest in a mobile app for our community to access information on-the-go in an easier UX that mobile browsers can’t quite achieve for viewing, searching and posting on our community.

Thank you for your consideration!

We are also receiving this feedback once in a while. We always argument that CC is quite mobile responsive. But I think the mobile experience through an actual app would make the on-the-go experience much nicer; posting a question, snapping and uploading photos, searching for content, partial offline use (?).

The majority of our users are on the “field”, often without a/their laptop.

I was just looking at analytics the other day, and our users in Nigeria (which one of the largest share of visitors) are accessing our portal 50% of the time via mobile phone!

Adding a vote to this too but see that, in this community, this request was brought up 5 years ago! However, my community members tell me they would engage more via a mobile app - our customers work in hospitality and more often than not, are on their feet with a mobile in hand, rather than sitting behind a monitor.

We have clients asking for a mobile app for the community as well. Our previous platform had one (Mighty Networks), so they are used to having one and found it to be very beneficial.

As we’ve seen a lot of comments on the topic here and in general an increasing need for mobile apps and nowadays also for Online Communities, we (3sides, an official partner company of Gainsight) have invested time in building a native mobile app which can be fully branded to an organization and connects to the Gainsight community. You can read more about it here: https://microspace.co/m/ukL6F1b0UU

Feel free to send a message if you have questions or want to brainstorm about it 🙂

Thank you all for the continued feedback and the real-world context here. However, a native mobile app is not something we're planning to build in the foreseeable future. It's a significant standalone investment that isn't on our roadmap, and we don't want to leave this idea open in a way that signals otherwise.

We're marking this as Parked for now. That doesn't mean the signal goes unheard, the use cases here are noted, and if our direction changes, this thread will be the first place we update.
