Native Anchor Links / Bookmarks for Deep Section Linking
Description: As a Senior Technical Writer, long-form articles (such as setup guides and troubleshooting manuals) require internal jump links so users can navigate directly to specific sub-sections, procedures, or configuration tables.
Technical Specification & UI Requirements:
- Insert Anchor / Bookmark Tool: Add a dedicated Bookmark / Anchor icon button to the Rich Text Editor toolbar. Placing the cursor on any heading or paragraph and clicking this button automatically assigns a unique HTML id slug (e.g., id="setup-prerequisites").
- Updated Insert Link Modal: Enhance the Insert Link modal dialog by adding a Link Type selector:
- External URL: Standard URL field (https://...).
- Internal Anchor / Bookmark: Displays a dynamic dropdown list populated with all created anchors/id tags in the current document (e.g., #setup-prerequisites, #configuration-steps).
- DOM Output: Generate clean standard relative anchor tags: <a href="#target-id">Link Text</a>.
Business Impact:
- Dramatically improves end-user documentation readability and deep-linking capabilities.
- Reduces page bounce rates and simplifies reader navigation.
