Hi Team,

In SFDC, We can build a report using the User Subscription object, which contains the manually subscribed or un-subscribed accounts info per user. End users can Follow to the C360 for an account from the C360 page in the upper left. They can also manually unsubscribe by clicking this option again.

However, NXT UI doesn’t seems to have this functionality of reporting.

This has come up as an issue for us as well. We really need to be able to create a way using rules engine that I can make the followers of an account specific custom fields on the company object and report on who is following what.

Hi everyone,

Thank you for all the feedback and patience on this thread. We're evaluating this area and would love your input on a few specific scenarios before we finalise our approach:

Q1 — Handling existing stale follows If we were to automatically clean up follows where the user is no longer assigned to that account  would you want that to cover only follows that were originally set via auto-subscribe, or all stale follows including ones users set manually? Would a blanket cleanup cause any unintended side effects in your org?

Q2 — Auto-follow when added to a Company Team Beyond role-based lookup fields (e.g. CSM on a Company), would it be useful if a user automatically followed a company when they were added to its Company Team  and unfollowed when removed?

Q3 — User-level follow management If admins get the ability to view and mass-unfollow on behalf of users  do you still see a need for individual users to have their own view of all companies they follow, with the ability to unfollow themselves? Or does admin control cover the need sufficiently?

Q4 — Reporting on follow/subscription data Would it be really useful to have the User Subscription data (who follows which company) exposed as a reportable object in Gainsight — so you can build reports . What would you use it for if admins get a separate capability to do bulk unfollow.

Q5 — Rules Engine for follow management Given that auto-follow and auto-unfollow based on lookup fields would handle most assignment-driven scenarios — do you see a need to trigger follow/unfollow actions via Rules Engine as well? If yes, what use case would that cover that the lookup-field config wouldn't?

Would love to hear how these scenarios map to your day-to-day. The more specific you can be, the more it helps us prioritise.

I think the general problem is that there is no way for anyone - admin or user, to know who the follows are or bulk manage them.

Re Q1 - I don’t know that an auto cleanup is needed necessarily if users and admins can manage these in bulk, but I think auto-follows would be the main priority.

Q2 - That workflow would make sense, but they should still be able to unfollow if desired.

Q3 - This should really follow the pattern of any setting like this - users can manage their own, and admins can bulk manage multiple users.

Q4 - It would be useful, as that would be a requirement for Q5, but in general, having things reportable in an MDA is an admin requirement for all things. If we had reports and bulk management - I see that as the same question of having Mass edit actions (for CTAs) and rules/reports. They can in some ways overlap but have different functionality. Bulk unfollow is an action, reports are information that can be exposed outside the admin tool.

Q5 - Rules generally allow more granular and custom actions than narrow use case UI elements.

Following! We have “Global Accounts” for which there is 1 Gainsight Account, but could be multiple CSMs.
We are working on building the additional CSMs into our data.
But for now this is lacking.

The ability to follow an account works great, but it would be even better if we could add a global filter to dashboards for a CSM to also filter the reports on the accounts they are following, as well as those they are the CSM for.
