Currently the point system rules only allow allocation of points for creating a topic but you are not able to break this down to provide a different value to creating a question vs creating a conversation vs creating an idea. We would like to delineate this in our community and provide different values for each.

Thanks for sharing this idea @Christa Brown :). I’m interested to hear more about your motivation behind this idea - e.g. is it because you value certain content higher than others in terms of engagement? What’s the top benefit for you if you can set these point values distinctly?

In addition, what would you expect to happen points-wise if e.g. a user’s conversation is converted to an article, or a question is converted to an idea?

@daniel.boon Yes, we want to be able to reward different types of engagement based on the value to our community and our organization. We’re looking to have the flexibility to adjust points for the different types of topics (conversation, question, idea, article). As for points when converted, we would expect the user to get the points associated to the converted state. So if a question is converted to an idea, they get the idea points.

I’m fully with @Christa Brown here. Certain content can have more value to the overall community strategy. So if my community strategy focuses on customer feedback and customer insights, then I want to especially encourage the users to post ideas. And as posting an idea also means the user / customer has been engaging with the the product(s) in more detail (compared to a customer with a simple billing question, for example) and is willing to take time out of their day to post a feature request that not only benefits them but other customers, then this engagement should be awarded differently.
