3 activities select members need to be able to do on the Community and it is Not Moderation, to progress along the Community-led mission.

Recognize and show my trust in them to:

  • Create their own Groups*
  • Post their own Events 
  • Blogpost Articles

Now these are ‘non-moderation’ activities meaning they would need to be available to certain Custom Roles, outside the Control panel and offered as end user options I want to enable my next phase of sub-community or chapter leaders with.

*P.S. I’ve highlighted self creation of Groups (not categories) as Categories are a strategic nav item that is owned by the Community manager (in sync with program owners).

This is for us to gear for the next wave of growth, C2C or Customer to Customer, where you take the Org out of the equation in a calculated way [Beth McIntyre], for certain programs and further along the Community-led path.

    Hi @anirbandutta! Thank you for sharing this idea and bringing a comprehensive context! 

    I agree it’s a direction worth exploring to expand further the power of communities and we would need to explore how it fits and expands the current vision. There would be implications on different levels, from user experience, restructuring roles and permissions, and set of functionalities required to enable the added value. I will open this idea to collect votes and more use cases / needs.

      Related… I’d like to grant community members the ability to moderate select groups without giving them moderation access for the entire community. Hope to see updates here that allow for more community-led content!

        Thanks for adding that @megan.

        I’d imagine the capabilities offered via a Custom Role and something that may also be auto-enabled based on Ranks.

        Not to mention, all actions recognized by a more granular Gamification. 

        @Cristina … thoughts?

        Gamification elements and user roles are more on @Sebastian’s alley, but I agree that custom roles would be the most fitted area for deciding which users get certain moderation permissions and potentially, automated through ranks.
