Hi

Following chat with the support I understand that today you can post an article on behalf of other users from the interface in the control but can’t continue to engage with the post on behalf of the other user unless you implement an API call (sharing info here if will help anybody).

I would love to be able to stay consistent with such posts and be able to choose in the control who are you answering as.

Is anybody else interested? Vote please ;)

This is the API call:
https://api2-eu-west-1.insided.com/docs/community/#operation/replyArticle

With the authorId query parameter - you can set it to any author and it'll post as them.

Saw this idea was moved from New to Open a few years ago by @Cristina  -- I’d love to bump it back up.

An expansion of the existing “post on behalf of” functionality to include the ability for admins to reply to existing threads and comments as another user would unlock several critical use-cases for us.

A few examples of what we’re looking to do:

  • Support team alias: Reply to posts that we trigger Support cases for under a shared “Support” alias to maintain consistency, maintain the anonymity of the individual (as we want comms to occur in the case once its open) and to centralize responses.

  • Leadership posts: Our leadership team posts thought leadership content into the Community, but then rely on community managers to monitor and reply. Being able to respond as the original poster would help validate the authenticity of their original post and ensure continuity of voice.

  • XFN Collaborators: For cross-functional teams and programs, our team wants to minimize the barrier of entry for using the community as a promotion/distribution channel. To get collaborators started, we help post their announcements/communications on their behalf—but currently, we’re unable to also support the follow-up to any threaded replies/posts from community members.
