Role to Create Articles

That’d be nice, but I’m sure this is tied to the licensing model given that most articles require access to Control to create, add an image, etc.. I usually work around this by having them create it as a conversation then convert it to an article once published. 

You’re right @Scott Baldwin that is a core part of the problem. We need a moderator and/or publisher level access that doesn’t require a full price seat. As a fundamental part of community management - especially when scaling up - you’ll need to distribute those kinds of functionalities amongst more people and without giving access to Control. (This is also a fundamental part of a zero trust security and compliance model, which we should be employing any way. Especially in bigger orgs. No end user PII access unless there is a business need.)

Fixing this could also be used to more flexibly empower super users (non-employees) to be given moderator or publisher powers, which unlocks the ability to generate a crowd-sourced knowledge base and a community-based moderation model (self-policing), which is generally considered best practice for scaling communities.

Indeed, currently a full admin seat is required to create articles from control.

If such a role existed to create articles from control, would you grant that person access to the whole articles overview or content section?

Would they be able to modify someone else’s article?

@janina.woita - I can see a use for two roles - one to create and one to create/edit, but we would be happy with just the one to create that didn’t grant access to the mod console (or very very limited access). We have lots of people who want to contribute to our knowledgebase, and it’d be nice to let them create and publish articles and then let our moderators use the mod console to edit if needed later.
