There's no option available to save a topic draft either online or with 'download as' function. Setting up a new topic takes quite some time so it's understandable someone might want to take a break, is unable to continue due to meetings or just wants to sleep on it before the final check.

Semi-offtopic: Just lost a big part of a post due to (I think) a random temporary disconnect. Whatever the case, losing your work for no apparent reason is by far the biggest demotivation. If we want to create an active and engaging TW community, I think it's extremely important to make sure no user is held back or demotivated by losing their draft.

I’m adding my vote here as I just lost an idea that I spent 15-20 minutes writing (for this community!)

I’d written the idea and when I hit submit I got ‘whoops we can’t find that page’ message. When I went back, my idea had disappeared. :scream:

I like the way jive does this on replies. It automatically saves your draft as you are typing, and when you navigate away and come back, it gives you an option to load it back if you like

I have also just lost about an hour’s work creating a community conversation b/c my browser crashed.  In an effort to not demotivate people from creating community posts that aren’t Admins, this is a huge need.

I have power users asking for this as they often create a lot of content, then risk loosing it.
