Search results sorting - defaults
Hello good folks!
It's that time again! Once more, we're trying to optimise the community content across 4 languages, for the busiest time of the year at Sonos. Long story short (after having a quick browse on both mobile and desktop)
It would be great to have a new 'default results' option for lurkers (not default for known/logged in users) in the search dropdown.
Currently the options for sorting topics in a search are:
I would like to add a few additional options to this list:
Staff suggestion would have the opportunity to be set as the default for users that are not logged in.
How could this be managed though? Well, the system probably knows which user role was behind the "Marked a question as answered", and/or gave kudos to (hopefully) good content. So, all content that's been marked as answered by staff (user roles), and has also received a kudo from the same user group (role) could be boosted in the search results. With a time limit of the content having been started within the last 90 days.
For the User Suggested, it would be the same logic, just based on the super user role.
The benefit of this addition is that we would have more control over the "good content" that we'd like to see in the search results.

- Most replies
- Most views
- Relevance
