Separate bookmark/favorite feature without email notifications
Some of our users have requested a bookmark or favorite feature:
I will like to be able to create a personalized favorite list of any post found in the Community in order to easily refer back to the posts.
I know this already exists with the Subscribe (previously called Favorite) feature and have suggested it to our users. It provides that personalized list under their profile in Subscriptions.
However, that feature is tied in to system email notifications, so users would then get emails about new replies on the the topic. While this can be disabled in the user settings, there’s not an option for this use case: wants emails for some topics, but not all of their favorites.
My recommendation would be to decouple the two:
- Favorite or Bookmark
- Subscribe (to email notifications)
The subscribe could be left the same with current settings. The favorite/bookmark would just create a personalized list like with Subscriptions.
