I would like the ability to shadowban users where they can still reply or post topics but they are invisible to other users (moderators excluded)
or to have them placed “on parole” where all of their contributions would be pending until approved or denied by a moderator
We are considering what to do with this one. We will not enable shadow banning, it is something we’ve reviewed earlier this year and decided against it due to a poor member experience. That being said, the idea to put specific users in a Pending state is definitely warranted. Putting this into Open for now and will consider it.
Regardless, what would be helpful is if such a pending state could be timed. We sometimes give users who break our rules a ban for a week. Since this happens infrequently enough, it can be tricky to remember to unban that user after a week. It would be a nice feature if you could give a user a status like banned, or a pending state, that automatically reverses itself after x time.
