I noticed several CSS properties are not recognized by the custom CSS interface and result in an error that prevents publishing.
So far, I’ve found the following unrecognized properties:
Idea:
Instead of preventing publishing how about a warning with the option to “Publish Anyway”

I recently discovered an alternative for that. “grid-gap” is deprecated but recognized and treated as an alias for gap by browsers (works for flexbox and grid) and Gainsight allows this one.

Interesting! That’s extremely helpful. Ideally, full support for current properties would be preferable, but I love a good workaround in the meantime. 😄 Thank you for sharing that!
Thanks for bringing this up! This one's on our radar, and it's come up in a few other places too, so we know the validator blocking legitimate properties is getting in the way.
As we build out Developer Studio capabilities, I'd like to explore closing this gap. I'll run it by the team to see what options we have to bring this live. Nothing to share on timelines just yet, but it's definitely on the list and will be looked into.
