Support Dependent Picklists for Multi-Picklist Fields in CSQL Forms

Current Behavior

Dependent dropdown functionality in CSQL forms is currently only supported for single picklist fields. When a multi-picklist field is used as the dependent field, the controller dropdown does not limit the available options as expected — the full list of values is displayed regardless of what is selected in the controller field.

This was confirmed by Gainsight Support and replicated in the demo instance.

Desired Behavior

Dependent picklist functionality should work for multi-picklist fields in the same way it currently works for single picklist fields. Specifically:

• When a controller picklist value is selected, the dependent multi-picklist field should filter its available options to only those mapped to the selected controller value
• The filtering behavior should be consistent regardless of whether the dependent field is a single or multi-picklist type

Business Impact

Without this functionality:

• CSMs can select any combination of values in the dependent field regardless of the controller selection, leading to inconsistent and inaccurate data
• The data quality issue cascades into scorecard calculations, reporting, and any AI-driven insights built on top of that data
• Customer’s admin team must manually audit and correct form submissions rather than having the validation enforced at the point of entry

For a team with no dedicated Gainsight admin enforced form validation is a critical guardrail
