We need, to be compliant with security settings, to be able to determine who can and cannot download reports

As an org, we have a system in place that allows us to determine who can and cannot download reports from system.  We cannot do this within Gainsight.  While I know there may be some upcoming product release items, we truly need to be able to control this at the permission level for security compliance.

    This is also impacting us.

We do not want the majority of our end users to be able to download or export reports for security reasons, and they have been doing this to export data from Gainsight to create and manage their business outside of the system.

There are some legitimate exceptions that we need to be able to allow to enable operational/data workflows where downloading of reports still needs to be allowed.

We cannot manage this today. Either we have exporting of reports set at the global tenant level as either On or Off, or we have to manage downloading of reports row by row.

We currently have 1,534 reports in our largest tenant so this is not feasible at scale.

Can we just have a simple permission added to control this at the user level?

Seconded. Flexibility on when a user can download data from a report is important to our organization as well.

Right now, the only options are

    • Turn it on and off at the tenant level
    • Turn it on and off at the report level

Since we are a large organization and there are many who build reports, trying to maintain this at the report level is futile due to the volume of reports. Blocking the download of report data at the tenant level is too extreme as there are certain operations roles where this is required to perform certain functions.

One issue we frequently run into is CSMs going into Gainsight, downloading the report data they need, and then working or logging their work activity locally or elsewhere.
