This article guides Control users in creating a language-specific Community category structure.
Overview
A localized Community category helps region-specific users get started and navigate the community platform effectively. It enables community managers to offer a seamless experience tailored to diverse community users.
Prerequisite
- Enable the language on the Languages page for which you want to create a localized Community category structure. For more information on how to enable a languagec, refer to the Configure Language Settings article.
Create Localized Community
To create a localized Community category structure:
- Log in to Control.
- Navigate to Platform > Community. The Community page appears.
- From the language dropdown list, select the language for which you want to create a category.
- Create the Community category structure with the required sections, nested sections, categories, and nested categories. For more information on how to create a Community structure, refer to the Configure Community Sections article.
For example, you create a new Community category specifically for Spanish-speaking users to help them get started.
In Destination, this Spanish structure is only visible to community users when the language is published, and they select Spanish from the language picker dropdown list.
Note: Publish the language for which the structure is created. Only then can community users access this Community category. For more information on how to publish a language, refer to the Configure Language Settings article.
If community users change the language, for example from Spanish to English, the Community category structure of the English language becomes available.
