If I enable the pre-built Search widget and set up the CC integration, will it also search the hosted articles in the other widgets?

Short answer: Yes 😇
If you’re using the new editor, the Search widget in the In-App Hub returns results from multiple sources simultaneously:
Content (In-App Engagements and Hosted Articles) from other bot widgets. If a Recommendation widget is used, content from the active recommendation group is also included in the search.
Any Knowledge Base sources enabled for the Search widget.
Community (CC) content, based on the configured categories and product areas.
