Gainsight CS Patch Release Update - August 27, 2026
The patch release includes enhancements across Timeline, and Journey Orchestrator.

Enhanced Microsoft App Permissions for AI Follow-Up
Gainsight has updated the Microsoft app permission for AI Follow-Up from Read all users' full profiles to Read all users' basic profiles, following the principle of least privilege.

Retro-Link Attendee Email IDs
Timeline automatically links external attendees previously logged as email IDs on historical activities to their corresponding Company Person or Relationship Person record upon creation of that record.

Improved Email Logging for Long Emails
Gainsight supports logging emails that exceed 131,000 characters to Timeline. Previously, emails exceeding this limit were discarded. Such emails are now truncated and logged.

Timeline API: Additional Context Types for Activity Logging
The Timeline API now supports CTA, Success Plan, and GS Opportunity as additional context types for activity logging, alongside the existing Company and Relationship contexts.

Control Email Open Tracking with Recipient Consent
Admins can control whether Gainsight tracks when recipients open their emails and give recipients the choice to decide for themselves. Previously, Gainsight tracked email opens for all recipients by default with no option to restrict or opt out.
