Best Workarounds for the 50K Character Limit?

How do you handle the 50K max character count in articles/topics when cutting content isn’t an option, and breaking it up into comments wouldn’t be intuitive for customers? Any workarounds or advice?

Are you hitting the limit because of copy and paste from word or are you hitting the limit natively.   I know when you copy it comes with a ton of hidden formatting and you end up hitting the limit pretty fast.

I used to use a trick in word press for longer reads.  You create 3 separate articles and link them to each other using hyperlink navigation at the end of the articles.  Like chapters.

At the end it would just read:
Read part II of this series here.

Hi! We are hitting it natively. We have tried the copy paste in notepad and then move over, but no dice.  Good thinking on the linking- could be the best option. I read doing a PDF download with a linked table of contents, but I would hate to go that route.

Hey, welcome to GameChangers by the way @Awagner , looks like you’re new around here! :)

From an end user perspective, it’s also better to avoid cramming absolutely everything into one article as most folks probably don’t want to read an entire encyclopaedia worth of content on a single page, purely to find a single answer to one question. I know that well because I’m actually an end user myself (one of only three on here)!

Certainly for things like release notes, dedicated pages for each release means you can hype up each one!

I seem to recall @Julian talking about it a few years ago as part of another discussion but I haven’t found any signs of updates as to what happened after that. I’ll ask him if he knows what happened to those discussions when I next catch him.

I seems simple but just having images saved locally, then using the image tool to insert them into post has always taken care of this issue for us.
