Importing E-Mail Domains

Due to some inconsistencies on the Salesforce side in our contacts, I have a list of customers that do not have email domains associated, so naturally we are not ingesting email data for those accounts.

I have identified all those accounts, I have a GSID/crm_id associated with all of them and have primary domains assigned. My question is how do I import the email domains to the accounts that are missing domains.

I have an S3 bucket and file attached that contains the data, but it’s unclear how to map the field as I would have figured that this would be more of a system field than a custom field. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Hey Jay! How many do you have? If it’s not too many, the manual fix is simple. But if it’s significant, it might be best to get @bradybluhm’s attention and see if support/data ops could help in this case.

For the simple approach Account Page → Settings (in the second widget) → Account Domains → Add Domain(s)

Howdy Dawn,

Yes, it’s around 60, so more than I would want to do manually unfortunately. Although I will if I have to.

This documentation didn’t clear it up? We don’t use S3 for Staircase so hopefully I’m not sending you on a goose chase here.

Yes, that part is all good, but it doesn’t appear that you can use Domain as a target field for import.

Gainsight to the rescue :) L2 support is going to import them for me!

So to round this out then - there’s no way for us to do this on the admin end? We either engage support or we do it manually?

Has to be done through support, otherwise it has to be done manually. I was able to supply my CSV which contained crm_id,Company Name, domain and L2 support is going to import it directly for me.
