☁️ Reconnect Salesforce

Step 1: Save Your Mappings

Before making any changes, take a quick screenshot of your:

  • Account Mapping
  • Stakeholder Mapping

This ensures you can quickly restore anything if needed.

Step 2: Authorize Salesforce (~5 minutes)

  1. In Salesforce, install the Gainsight Staircase AI Data Connector app, https://appexchange.salesforce.com/a...d-8b6ddd8057a7
Note: This action requires Salesforce Admin privileges.
  2. Log in to Staircase.ai
  3. Navigate to Settings > Integrations and select the Salesforce card. The right panel displays details about the Salesforce integration.
Best Practice: Use an integration user to set up the integration rather than an individual person login.
  4. Enter your Salesforce Subdomain (example, mycompany).
  5. Click Connect. The Allow Access dialog box appears.
  6. Click Allow
  7. Once connected, Staircase AI establishes a secure link to your Salesforce instance.

Step 3: Re-sync Field Mappings (~10–15 minutes)

  1. Go to Config → Fields
  2. Review both your Account and Stakeholder fields
  3. Click Sync to refresh fields from Salesforce
  4. Confirm your mappings are still correct
  5. Re-map any fields that show as disconnected

Step 4: Confirm Data Flow (~5 minutes)

  • Open a recent account in Staircase
  • Confirm that Salesforce data is appearing
  • Check that your latest updates are syncing

💬 Reconnect Slack

Step 1: Re-authorize Slack (~5 minutes)

  1. Go to Settings → Integrations
  2. Select Slack → Reconnect
  3. Your Slack Workspace Admin chooses the correct workspace
  4. Approves the Staircase connection

Your previously connected channels should remain intact, but it's good to check them.

Step 2: Verify Channel Access (~5–10 minutes)

  1. Open a Slack channel previously connected to Staircase
  2. Click the channel name → Integrations
  3. Confirm Staircase is still listed

If needed, re-add Staircase by typing:

/invite @Staircase

Update: Salesforce Connector Reauthorization Requirement Removed

We have an important update to share following our earlier communication about Salesforce connector reauthorization.

After extensive technical and executive-level discussions with Salesforce, the previously observed requirement for Salesforce connectors to be reauthorized every ~30 days has been removed.

Why the Change was Made

This resolution was reached after Gainsight and Salesforce teams collaborated to review the connector’s underlying architecture. A key finding in these discussions was that the Gainsight Managed Package already leverages Refresh Token Rotation (RTR).

Because our integration ensures that credentials are automatically rotated, the additional 30-day reauthorization layer was deemed unnecessary for maintaining a secure, active connection.

What this means for customers

  • No Recurring Reauthorization: Salesforce connectors will no longer require manual reauthorization due to a fixed 30-day window.
  • Seamless Operation: Actively used connections will continue to operate via our recurring RTR cycle without manual intervention or recurring disruption.
  • No Action Required: No additional steps are needed from your team as a result of this change.

We recognize that the earlier behavior caused confusion and interruption for some teams. We appreciate your patience while we worked through this, and we’re glad to share this resolution as part of our continued effort to provide a stable and predictable integration experience.

Thank you for your partnership—we will continue to work closely with our platform partners to ensure long-term reliability.
