Automate user approval by contacts

Is there some way to automate user approvals? We only want current customers to have access to the community so if we were to add a list of current customers to the contacts section and they go to the website and try to register, can they get automatically approved? We would like this preferably without sending any invite emails.

 

Also, when a new user registers and needs to be approved, can I trigger an email notification so I don’t have to go manually check if there are new users waiting?

Hi @Christine!

Yes this can be done, but will need a little work via a Zap.

For example for our inSpired community we use the following zap to achieve this:

 

Relating to your other question on automatic email notifications: 

→ This can also be done via a Zapier. Whenever a new user is registered you can set it for an email to be send.

I really like that idea for bulk role assignment, we need that too!
