When a comment is moved to another topic, the old topic shouldn't appear in the profile anymore

Example:

A comment is being published in topic A. Later, this comment is moved to topic B. In the user profile the comment is still being shown as based in the original topic A.

→ I considered this to be a bug, but inSided informed me that it is the intended behaviour.

inSided’s point of view:

The functionality of that section is used as a log of actions by the user not as a list of where their content lives. This is why you see things like "You have given the best answer" as well as new replies and topics.

My point of view:

There is no reason that the old location (topic A) of the comment is still listed in any overview. If anyone now clicks on the old topic, they won’t find the comment they’re expecting. Any activity stream should show the current state of the content.

With the same logic, deleted content should also still appear in the user profile activity stream, which it doesn’t. And comparing actions such as “new replies” with content that was moved to another location doesn’t make sense to me either.

My proposal:

As inSided doesn’t recognize this issue as a bug, I’m creating this idea.

For me, and for community users in general, there is no added value at all to keep outdated links and references in any activity stream. If content is being deleted, it disappears from the activity stream.

So, if content is being moved, then the outdated reference to the old topic should also disappear from the activity stream.
