Extra line in an email template

My customer copies their email from the Google Docs after it has been reviewed and vetted by their marketing teams. They have noticed that while the email looks OK in the Email Preview and in the Email Template view when they send out an email and view them in their inbox, they see an extra *Enter*. So, where there was just one line between two paragraphs, there are two lines in the actual email. How can they avoid this? Is anyone else seeing this issue?

@All, after I spoke with product team, they suggest It is always advisable not to copy and paste directly from google docs because it might add few tags when copy pasted. So always better to either use email template editor or use HTML.

Also we have the differences in the email when comes to email client. Hence suggesting to use email template editor or HTML

Hi Meenal, when I tried the same use-case, I don't see the extra *Enter*.

Could you please add more details to the above and also a screen-shot would help .

Hi Meenal,

In another forum, customers were discussing similar email formatting issues. (Your customer might've been involved in this other conversation, too!) Admins were suggesting things like:

  • Try running it through an email validation service like Litmus or Email on Acid.
  • Go line-by-line in the html as well to ensure all text has the same font-family and size attributes. It is possible that something is being coded in size instead of pixel.

Hello,

We are struggling with this too!

Can you direct me to the other forum where this was discussed?

Also, where do we access the html in Journey Ochestrator to make the changes?

Thank you,

kelly
