Hi @dimplebelote - writing to the Activity Timeline object via rules is not supported. Can you share the use case you have in mind?

HI @dan_ahrens We have a requirement to move timeline entries bidirectional, from SFDC to Gainsight.  We have a created a object Gainsight Activity in SFDC and showing on Opportunity page. The CSMs will enter activity in Gainsight will show here and we are updating using rule.  In the same way CSAs or other users who do not have access to Gainsight will create activity in SFDC and those need to be moved to Gainsight.

Thanks,

Santhosh

Hi @spadamatinti - you shouldn’t need to create a custom object and sync Timeline activities to that SFDC custom object, as we already support automatic sync from Timeline to SFDC activities: https://support.gainsight.com/SFDC_Edition/Timeline/Admin_Guides/Configure_Timeline_View_for_C360_and_R360#Configure_Activity_Sync

In the opposite direction, we are bringing the ability to sync Salesforce activities to Timeline (coming at the end of December).

We also have a team view widget that you can deploy on the SFDC Account or Opportunity page to give access to all the Gainsight data: https://support.gainsight.com/SFDC_Edition/View_More_Categories/Team_View/User_Guides/Gainsight_Team_View_for_the_SFDC_Account_or_Opportunity_Pages
