Hi @Vadym ,

While you can make the Mega Menu look a bit different with some custom styling - and Typeform does an amazing job at this - you can’t totally replace it with a custom one. Likewise, I’m afraid you can’t add any Widgets to it beyond adjusting the built-in settings it offers you via Control - you can, of course, also use the Phrases tool to rename the buttons to your liking too.

Likewise, the Search Banner Widget does not support being placed in the Mega Menu if memory serves. The existing search button up there already serves this purpose and will do the exact same thing when it is clicked on by a user.

Some of these things used to be possible in the very earliest days of inSided, back when every single instance was totally custom built for each community. But doing so became a nightmare for the early team (not least Robin and Wouter!) to maintain at scale, so those features were deprecated and replaced with the Branded Templates method that continues to exist to this day.

The current setup still allows quite a lot of flexibility for customisation, but made it so that inSided could deploy updates consistently across the entire platform at once with less risk of breaking random communities. It is unlikely that the fully custom design thing will ever make a return.

The closest you can do is work with a web developer to implement Custom HTML/CSS that can help make things look closer to your own branding, but you can’t totally replace the entire template.

Hi @Blastoise186

Do I understand correctly that I can’t add a search even to a custom header?

And as for the sections, let’s say I need something like quick links, but I need bigger pictures. I tried searching to find how to solve this, but nothing. The first thing that came to my mind was to create a completely custom HTML code, however, it would not prohibit customization for my team, since they are not familiar with HTML.

Thanks!

If you wanted such a custom header in the Mega Menu, then I don’t think that’s possible. If you wanted to add the search bar into a Custom HTML widget, I think you can do that, but I don’t know how myself.

I get the feeling that whatever your ideas are, you probably need to consider getting a professional web developer in to assist you, otherwise you risk breaking your instance pretty badly.

Gainsight might be able to offer you that service but IIRC it’s not part of the included features and if it does still exist, would come at an additional cost as it’d come under their professional services stuff.

Thanks for the advice, but I am a front-end developer myself, I am just not familiar with this platform and I am trying to figure out what can be changed here to suit the design we need

In that case, give this puppy a spin:
