Filtering reports embedded in JO outreaches by Data type other than 'ID'

I have run into a problem when attempting to filter an embedded report inside of a Journey Orchestrator Outreach. I am wanting to filter by a 'String' field, but have found that the only data types that I can filter by is of type 'ID'.

I have tried using the rules engine to write my string value to a GSID field, but this breaks the rule due to data type mismatches. An example of what I am trying to filter would be by country, if Country = USA, where USA is what I bring in by field mapping, and Country is a field within the embedded report (currently cannot filter like this). Is there any way to manipulate a string value into an ID value in order to filter the embedded report?

@srkardel Thanks for posting it here, I am a bit confused here, why do you want a filter on a string field? Could you please brief the use-case, so that I can help you better.

Hello,

 

My use case was that I was attempting to embed a report or attach a report that would summarize data to a non unique identifier across multiple customers.  The report was to be a usage / Journey Orchestrator summary that would only contain data specific to customers tied to a specific Channel Partner.

 

I have been able to implement a work around by creating a custom GSID field and writing in the identical string field I was initially trying.  This combined with transforming the Journey Orchestrator output data type to ‘ID’ I was able to filter to them in the embedded / attached reports.
