I’m in the midst of building out and executing on a new content strategy and just realized that you cannot schedule topics and was flabbergasted. Seems so odd that you can do this with an article, but not something else where we might want to start a discussion or conversation with the wider community.

Honestly, who has the time to be around to launch content manually on the day of in a community?

It looks like this was tabled as an idea awhile back by @Claudiomey

Then closed and implemented only for articles in

Hi @Scott Baldwin! Thank you for submitting this idea.

We are planning to add the schedule functionality to Product Updates as we believe it will help the product teams with closing the product feedback loop and plan product related content. It was not on our radar that scheduling would be useful on questions or conversations, but we’re open to hear more thoughts on how scheduling would enable a more robust content strategy for community teams.

There is a sort of workaround, though admittedly not the best, where a published article can be converted into a conversation (& then a conversation into a question) - I thought I’d mention it just in case it’s helpful for your team.

@Cristina yeah we use that sometimes as a hacky workaround for topics, but would like to avoid that. Other content types too here worth considering are Events. For example I’m often working months ahead of time on new events and may not open up registration right away but want to get all the content ready and have the event go live on our site on a certain date.

I’d like to piggy-back onto this request, and add in Product Updates.

We like to have these pre-set to be released at a set time. Would be much more convenient if we could schedule them like other pieces of content.

Thanks

The ability for anyone with a license to schedule any type of post, be it a question, conversation, event, or article is essential to content strategy management. I would really like to see this be a feature that is worked on, especially since it is already live with articles.

If I needed to prioritize which content types I needed to schedule:

  1. Articles
  2. Events
  3. Product Updates
  4. Conversations
  5. Questions

I’d like all the content types to have the same publish options: Save as draft, Publish now and Schedule publishing. I 💙 consistency.

  3. Reply in threads
  4. Events
  5. Questions - nice to have but not a must like the others

Huge +1 to this. Not sure why scheduling doesn’t exist for all content types - that doesn’t make sense to me. It’s very annoying for our content team to only be able to schedule certain types of content.

Love the product, and agree with the other replies! It would be lovely to plan all posts out so we can get our content roadmap in place each quarter and focus on other projects!
