Allow update CSV source in Data Designer / Horizon Rules (parity)

In data designer and horizon rules, it is seemingly impossible to update the source file in the equivalent of “Fetch from Amazon S3” task which is the S3 Source.

I have my summary and file properties and nowhere can I swap the file later down the line:

Since we can update the file path in bionic rules after adding merges, transformations and pivots, we also need that in DD and Horizon Rules so we have parity. Can’t fathom having to remove all of my tasks and redoing everything.

This ties in with @TMaier’s “insert task” concept as well.

Thanks for considering this enhancement!

PS: @anirbandutta could we have a new category or something that would be encompassing of Rules Engine and Data Designer as a category since those two are now Siamese but they’re not related whatsoever in existing categories?

Oof. We had to completely rebuild a very complicated Horizon Rule because of this. Updating the path of the file would have saved us so much time.

Hi All,

Thanks for highlighting.
We have improved this flow in Data Designer and Horizon Rules. This should be coming with April release in a week or 2.

@rakesh or someone in Support, can you post the workaround with the date pattern to overcome this?

And to be specific, I mean the workaround with the date pattern and removing it for the file to be considered as “starts with”.

Can’t wait to have this. I really need to preview an S3 file once imported or need to reimport it.
