Reporting: Custom Colors should traverse lookups between tables

I want to call this a problem, but I'm flagging it an idea.

I am building an "at risk" accounts report based off of the Company object.

In "by"  I have Vertical (from Company) and Label (lookup through Scoring Scheme Definition table)

I want to assign custom colors to the Label field, so I tried setting them on the Scoring Scheme Definition object:

But they do not propagate to the report which is built off of the Company object.

Hey Jeff, I didn't get a chance to test this extensively but by any chance are you able to assign the desired color by selecting the field "Label" via the object "Company" (instead of the scoring scheme definition object) in the custom color picker?

Label isn't an option when I select Company object, presumably because the Label field exists in the Scoring Scheme Definition table and accessible to Company via a lookup. Hence the route I attempted above.

@dan_ahrens This is frustrating and irritating my VP.

Here's my scorecard color scheme:

When I create the following report off the Unified Scorecard Fact table (this also happesns with all Fact tables) it selects random colors:

Because the Label field is accessible via a lookup to the Scoring Scheme Definition object, I cannot customize the colors as they are associated with the color scheme associated with my scorecard and have them display on the dashboard.

Creating a report off the Account Scorecard history table, the colors are again randomly selected, so the labels don't even match the report built off the Unified Scorecard Fact table:

Hi @darkknight - I can understand the frustration on this.

@venky_reddy_k @rakesh - any solutions that you can think of here? While custom colors assigned at the field level are useful, what would really awesome would be an ability to set colors at an individual report level in cases where further customization is desired or where the data is complex like in Jeff's example.

Hi Dan,

In Horizon Analytics Custom Colors do travel via lookups.

We would further invest in custom colors per report level as per additional customer feedback.
