It would be extremely helpful to be able to do calculations with our MDA data that would show us trends like deltas, drops in usage etc. Our key metrics are product usage, so we would like the CSM to be notified if there was a big increase or decrease from the week prior.

Hi Andrea,

If i understand correctly, you are looking for calculated metrics in report builder right? If yes, could you please give me some examples of calculations that you'd like to do using reports?

Thanks!

Yes, I am looking to be able to add a calculation into reports. For example, if I am tracking weekly usage week over week, I went to see the change between week1 and week2

You can actually do that in a rule very efficiently. If you make a calculated comparison field based off the MDA date field you can look at this week's usage compared to last week's etc. You can then set scores on measures based on the rate of change. Like you, I have a non license based business, so this is how the majority of the customer based metrics I set scores on work.

Great comment, Matt. In addition to that, if it’s a use case for your company, you can push that weekly delta change to the usage object (by account), so that you can see the historical trend of the deltas (be able to report on the data).

Hi Dave - is it possible to backfill our usage data with monthly or weekly deltas? We've figured out how to do this for this month compared to last month, but need all of the preceding months to be populated as well.
