My company has a requirement for all comments to be added with a prefix of date/timestamp/name(initials) on such comment. This is used in particular when a CTA or task takes some time and there is a need to input ad-hoc wordage on a hourly or daily basis.
This is really useful for reporting and review, however it can be time consuming, repetitive and there's also an issue with us being a global company using different date formats depending on where the individuals are located.
Would it be possible to add a configurable hotkey or button perhaps, that adds a date/timestamp and username into the comments section? (that also adhere's to a local system's regional settings or is configurable)
I don't imagine this would be hard to implement and would save time on a very repetitive task.
Many thanks!

Hey Tony,
We use a 3rd party tool to create our own "hot keys" as a work around; called text expander. I'm sure there are quite a few options out there that offer the same results. This allows me to to in put the date/time/name, etc. by typing a couple quick short cut keys.

Tony -
Have you and your team explored using Timeline to record this information on CTAs vs using Comments? That will record who and when each comment is entered.

Hi Tony,
Denise beat me to recommending the use of Timeline on CTAs to record this info. Here is an example of what you'd be able to see - a threaded view of updates and with the ability to add rich text notes, internal and external participants and even add attachments!
Here is some additional info on this feature: https://support.gainsight.com/Product_Documentation/CTAS_Tasks_and_Playbooks/User_Guides/06_Using_Ca...
