Hello everyone!

I am trying to evoke engagement in our community. I asked one of our customers that reach out to the support team frequently, to post his questions on the community on his behalf. Would it be possible to change the author of a question? - I mean to post it from my account and change it to the customer's account.

 Hey @Idan,

This is bit of a tricky one, unfortunately it’s not possible to change the author of a question at the moment, you can only change the author for articles.

With that said, it is possible to do what you’re looking for. What you’ll have to do is create an article with the customer as an author:

After that, you’ll have to convert the article into a conversation then convert into a question:

So it is possible to do what you’re looking for although it requires some additional steps. I will convert this question into an idea so other users can upvote and our team can review it.

Let me know if you have any additional questions!

Thank you!

Hi @Idan! Thank you for submitting this idea! Leo offered a good workaround, but we are definitely aiming to extend the “submit on behalf” capability to the rest of the content types.

I did want to clarify what’s your expectation on how the question would be displayed - do you expect it to appear as authored by the user you chose and, hence, play into their gamification rewards, or would you rather have it be displayed as “Idan posted on behalf of John”? Do you have any concerns around privacy and user impersonation when it comes to posting on behalf of a customer? Should there be any validation from their end to allow that post? Thanks!
