I would love to see an improved UI for admins to manage dashboard permissions. While we are heavy users of permission groups (which is helpful) we still have to open each individual dashboard to add/remove these permissions. I’d prefer a page with a list of dashboards and check boxes for our existing groups where I could just go down the list and add a particular group to any/all dashboards they need access to at once. Same for removing access for a group(s) from multiple dashboards at the same time. This has come up more frequently as we work to clean up the many dashboards we’ve created for special projects/initiatives over the years. Part 2 of this ask (from one of my managers) is for the end user to have the option to remove (or at least hide) certain dashboards from their drop down list if they don’t want to see them. They know they don’t need/want access any longer, but don’t want to ‘bother’ our admin team with small requests.
Another part of better managing our dashboards, is better reporting on dashboard end-user views. Currently (or at least not that I’m aware of) I can only see data on when the dashboard was created, last modified, etc but I don’t know who is actually still using it. I know we have some outdated dashboards we’d like to remove, but it’s a manual process to reach out to anyone who might still have permissions and ask if we’re ok to delete the dashboard/remove their permissions.
