Preset primary and custom user roles when inviting to the community

I would like to be able to invite people to the community and pre-set their primary and custom user roles. That way when they join they have a seamless experience and see all the relevant content they would expect to see

Examples:

  • I may have a group of users that are joining a beta and want to grant them access to the user role(s) that enables that access
  • I may have a group of folks internally that I want to enable as Admins

Thanks for sharing this idea @Scott Baldwin - clear use case re: the beta users. Are you planning on using community categories rather than groups for beta-related content?

Right now we’re using categories for betas. Groups might be a possibility if they were able to be hidden from the overall groups list. 

Admins may not have been a good example here --  have used the team invites for those roles -- maybe it’s another custom role with some level of access like a super user.
