View the same data item in multiple ways in a report

I want to run a report where I include a COUNT of a data item, I also want to SUM that item and get an AVERAGE in the same report. When I try to do this I get a message telling me that I have already selected the data item therefore cannot add it again. Is there a reason why this is not allowed?

It seems to me that this would be a common (and realistic) ask.

      Hi Angela,

      Sorry you were unable to solve your use case. I understand how this can be limiting. Unfortunately, the inability to add the same field multiple times arises from the core design of reporting. It would take significant effort to remove this limitation. 
      We will keep this problem in mind in case we get an opportunity to address this.
