Author Custom User Role "not in" filter doesn't work

The “Not in” filter is the most significant and helpful feature for us on the new dashboards, because we currently use a painful manual workaround to identify customer engagements across all types of metrics.  Unfortunately, this filter does not work on the new dashboards.  If I select “Not in” and Custom Role = “Employee” I get wildly incorrect results (major undercount).  I have logged a case for this and submitted a video showing the behavior.  I’d love to get an update when this is fixed as this is a major blocker for us.

Hi @emiller

We checked, and it looks like the filters are working as expected. To get the results you need, please enable the “Include null” option in the filter. This will ensure that users with no custom role are also considered in the filter.
Let us know if you need any further assistance

Hi @Aleksandra Thanks for the info, that worked.  Since “include null” is a new option and results in a change in the way the “not in” filter behaves compared to the old dashboard, I would suggest that it be checked by default and a tooltip be added that explains what it does.  Not all analytics users would necessarily understand the term “include null” unless they have a technical background (familiar to DBAs and developers but maybe not the average Marketer...)
